THE ST MICHAEL SCHOOL STUDENTS were lauded yesterday for their overall good results in the 2007 Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) examinations.
Principal Shelton Perkins said his students did extremely well despite having to study while disruptive construction work was in progress on parts of the school building.
Head Girl Ria Scott was pleased with her results.
"I knew I didn't want to go back to secondary school but just go on to the University of the West Indies to do what the Lord wants me to do," said Scott, who plans to study literature, English and then transfer to law.
Her friends, Evan Pionkowski, 16, and Joel Fields, 17, also have their plans.
Fields leaves for Cuba today on a scholarship to study physical education, while Pionkowski will leave later in the month for Virginia, United States, to join the Air Force Academy. (TM)
