No rise in light bills, says Worme
Published on: 4/16/08.
BARBADOS LIGHT AND POWER COMPANY (BL&P) domestic customers will not have to pay more for electricity
at least for now.
BL&P's chief marketing officer Stephen Worme told the DAILY NATION yesterday that the company had not been informed about any removal of the fuel adjustment clause.
His comments came 24 hours after Prime Minister David Thompson announced a hike in fuel prices in the wake of runaway oil prices on the international market.
While the increase in the cost of diesel by more than $1 was steep, Worme was quick to point out that diesel represented only eight per cent of the fuel produced by the BL&P.
