Frozen pizza recall
Published on: 11/7/07.
THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH has issued a recall on several frozen pizza products following the recall of these foods in the United States by General Mills Company in Ohio.
The voluntary recall relates to Totino and Jeno frozen pizzas with pepperoni toppings.
These products are suspected to be contaminated with E. coli and maybe linked to an outbreak of the deadly bacterium found in several states in the United States.
The Ministry of Health has pointed out that the local agent SBI Distributors is cooperating with it to ensure only products which are safe are offered to the public.
Meanwhile, the Ministry's environment health officers are checking distribution points and retail outlets to make sure all recalled products are removed from their shelves. (BGIS)
