Others told to come in

THE JULY 26 MOVEMENT, a pan-Africanist group, has called on Ghanaians and Nigerians stranded in Barbados to turn themselves in at the Immigration Department in Bridgetown this morning.
David Denny, president of the movement, said yesterday that if the Africans ignored an earlier appeal by Government for them to be processed with a view to flying them home eventually, they could be arrested, charged and deported.
"The July 26 Movement appeals to all Ghanaians and Nigerians to turn themselves in and save themselves that level of embarrassment," Denny remarked.
He said the movement was ready to help those Africans who needed further assistance.
As many as 149 people were said to have come here on a Ghana Airways flight in February, with about 72 going on to spend a holiday in Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica.
The return flight, which had been scheduled for February 15, never materialised, leaving the Africans stranded.
Some have returned home, but scores are still in Barbados where Government is trying to make arrangements to fly them out. (TY)
