Inspector still off the job

POLICE INSPECTOR ANDERSON BOWEN remains off the job.
Bowen was suspended on half-pay eight months ago after he publicly called for the resignation of Police Commissioner Darwin Dottin.
However, checks with police officials last week revealed that though being off the job for almost a year, the senior officer has not been charged with any offence.
A source close to the Personnel Division said last Thursday it was "unusual" for a Government employee to be on suspension for such a long period of time without a written accusation outlining the breach for which he was not working.
Asked Monday about this situation, Attorney-General Dale Marshall declined to comment, saying it was a matter before the court.
Bowen sued the commissioner and the Attorney-General after Dottin placed him in a post last year that involved the supervision of maids, cleaners and general workers, a position never held by an Inspector in the long history of the force. (WG)
