Death after father, son clash over TV

GEORGETOWN A man with a history of violent behaviour is in police custody for allegedly killing his only son following a heated argument on Wednesday at their Shirley Field Ridley Square home.
Clive Gall Jnr., called "Percy", age 30, died at the St Joseph Mercy Hospital yesterday. He had been stabbed three times in the abdomen and twice on his right arm during the fracas.
Reports are that the elder Gall had complained about a television in the home making too much noise. He confronted the son about it and pulled a knife when he was ignored.
A scuffle then ensued between the two, resulting in the son being stabbed. The son, however, managed to wrest the knife away from him but the father allegedly drew a cutlass and dealt him another blow to his abdomen.
The son then broke through his bedroom window from the upper flat of the two-storey home to escape. He collapsed on the road a short distance away with the father in pursuit. The attacker retreated after residents in the area intervened.
Minutes after allegedly stabbing his son, the elder Gall walked to the nearby police outpost and announced what had happened. He was then detained.
Prior to this incident, the elder Gall had been convicted of murder twice but got off lightly because of his reported illness.
Back in 1991 he was found guilty of beating a man to death in the area, and shortly after that he had allegedly killed another man in a similar attack. His son's killing was his third on record, according to the family.
