Mandeline Forde lost her house and all its contents to fire on Wednesday night.

The timber and wall home, at Lodge Road, Christ Church, was not insured.

The 76-year-old Forde who received burns to the left hand and face was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Eric Rice and eight other officers responded around 8:36 p.m. with two fire tenders.

A wall house next door Forde's was slightly damaged, but no one was hurt. (CT)
