Final say on Louis Lynch

THE FINAL WORD on the problem-plagued Louis Lynch Secondary School should be given today.
Prime Minister David Thompson is expected to speak to the issue following a meeting of the Social Partners.
The building on Whitepark Road, St Michael, has been closed since last August after the last 180 students were redistributed among other schools.
It has been plagued with environmental problems since April 2005, when students and teachers complained of burning eyes, itching skin and dizziness.
Reports have been prepared by the University of the West Indies' scientific team, the Pan American Health Organisation and the Chronic Disease Research Centre, which did health studies at the facility.
The Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) has long insisted that it was not in favour of it being used again as a school.
Today's meeting will be held at the Savannah hotel. (ES)
