JARVIS FORDE scored three goals to propel his new club, Paradise, over his past one, Tudor Bridge, when the Digicel Premier League continued on Thursday night at the YMCA.
Paradise ran out 3-1 winners over the boys from the bridge after going down 1-0 in the 54th minute through an own goal from Forde, who was indecisive with a looping ball and obviously made the wrong decision.
He however made amends in the 55th minute to level the score 1-1. The equaliser seemed to breathe fresh life into the Dover, Christ Church team as they were more fierce and energetic than their opponents which helped to create many opportunities; one such was in the 70th minute.
Tudor Bridge custodian Chikiah Duke brought down Shane Callender in the box and former youth team captain Shane Mark stepped up, but Duke foiled him to keep the scores level.
Paradise continued to pile on the pressure and were rewarded in the 74th minute, when skipper Kent Hall scored a curling free kick from just outside the area to give Paradise a 2-1 lead.
Forde sealed the three points and pushed Paradise into fourth position in the 83rd minute, brilliantly heading in a Hall corner, which was probably the goal of the night. Paradise now have one foot in the Super Eight.
In the battle of north versus south Gall Hill and Youth Milan fought to a very dull and lacklustre 1-1 draw. In a game that had little to shout about in terms of quality of play and mental prowess, the result did justice to both teams.
Milan, who are known for their stylish and exciting style of play, produced one moment of brilliance, and that was in the 17th minute when captain Ramuel Millar ran on to a perfect cross from the diminutive Jason Blackman to place the ball past national keeper Omari Eastmond who had no chance.
Gall Hill soon replied from none other than their saviour Jason Goodridge. A long searching ball from Eastmond eluded the entire Milan defence and Goodridge raced past about four of them to flick the ball over an advancing Adrian Chase to level the scores, 1-1, in the 35th minute.
There was little to shout about in the second half, as both teams were seemingly satisfied with the scoreline. One significant incident and quite unfortunate for Gall Hill was the expulsion of returning defender Oscar Nero in the 80th minute.
This is very detrimental for Gall Hill since they are expected to lose Eastmond this weekend through national duty and are to meet Division 1 leaders, Eden Stars in the Knockout competition this Sunday at the YMCA.
