FORMER CHAMPION JOCKEY ANDY WARD finished at the top of the jockey's standings with 15 wins when the first season ended on April 28.

Ward, contracted to the top stable of Lord Michael Taylor and Clifton Racing, also finished the season with nine seconds, four thirds and four fourths from 50 starts with total earnings of $286 575.

Defending champion jockey Anderson Trotman finished in second position with nine wins, 12 seconds, 13 thirds and nine fourths from 70 starts with earnings totalling $202 443.

Juan Crawford, the 2006 champion, finished third with seven wins from 57 starts. He also had eight seconds, five thirds and ten fourths earning $142 944.

Apprentice Johnathan Grant had the same number of winners and seconds as Crawford, seven and eight, respectively, but was edged out of third position by virtue of having only four seconds to Crawford's five. Grant also placed third four times and fourth six times from 45 starts andearned $75 470.

Kenny John, another seven-pound claiming apprentice, also booted home seven winners from 46 rides. His other placings were four seconds, one third and three fourths while his mounts earned him $62 430.

Despite his earnings of $93 661, Louis-Phillipe Beuzelin finished sixth in the first season standings by virtue of riding only six winners. He also had nine seconds, 11 thirds and eight fourths from 65 rides.

Chris Husbands, despite missing a few days because of an imposed ban, finished in seventh position, also with six firsts.

In all he had 31 rides, and he finished with six seconds, three thirds and three fourths while earning $74 185.
