Highway network coming, says Manning
Published on: 6/17/07.
PORT-OF-SPAIN A completely new highway network in five to ten years will allow commuters to get from one side of Trinidad to the next in two and half hours, Prime Minister, Patrick Manning said yesterday.
Manning linked productive levels to the effectiveness and efficiencies of a well integrated and improved road network and alluded to its development as critical to the country moving forward.
Stating just how Government intended to move forward with its comprehensive plan, he said all contractors interested in tendering will be notified that the job is on a concessionaire basis.
This, he explained, will result in contractors designing, building and maintaining highways, by toll system. (Trinidad Express)
