THE 2008 CABLE & WIRELESS LEAGUE NETBALL SERIES continued on Friday at the Netball Stadium, Waterford, St Michael, with six games contested by teams in various zones.
In the King's Intermediate 2 Zone, C.O. Williams Rangers arrested the First Caribbean Police Girls 4134. Olivia Walcott was in full flight for the Rangers, scoring 24 goals from 26 attempts, while her teammate Tyna King scored 17 from 23.
For Police, Tisha Gregoire netted 18 from 25, Sandrene Lucas-Pile nine from 15 and Heather Belle seven from 13 attempts.
Playing in the Sinckler Intermediate 4 Zone, Dickson defeated Beverley Hills 2523 with Arlene Phillips leading the goal charge with 19 from 25 attempts for the Dickson side. Keisha Griffith converted 14 from 24 attempts.
The Mayers Intermediate 6 Division match-up brought together COW Rangers and First Caribbean Police Girls. For the second time in the afternoon the Police team came up short, losing to Rangers 1312.
For the Rangers, Brandi Grosvenor scored eight from nine, Nakita President four from nine and Jalicia Bascombe one from one. Karen Alleyne converted eight from 13 while her teammates Sonia Maynard and Kamesha Austin scored two from two each for Police.
Then it was on to the Grant Jr 'A' Zone where Sion Hill Spartans took on the Calvary Christ Church team defeating them 14-8. Tonya Cyrus led the effort for the Spartans sinking 13 of her 19 attempts while Rachelle Holder and Sarah Hurley each scored four goals for Calvary.
Next up was Paul's Intermediate 5 Zone, where DG United easily disposed of Structural Systems Silver Raiders 19-14. Tonisha Alleyne scored ten from her 17 attempts while her teammate Shakera Goodridge sank nine from her ten tries. For the Raiders, Kimberley Maynard netted 12 of her 18 attempts and Lakeisha Holder scored four from seven.
In the Sinckler Intermediate Division Pine Hill St Barnabas and Banks Spurs match-up, the Spurs had no answer to the St Barnabas girls and were swamped 2819. Sonia Banfield had the hot hands for St Barnabas with 18 goals from 23 attempts, while Shanise Jarvis accounted for 12 of her 20 attempts for the Spurs.
