GOVERNMENT will no longer use the Christ Church Welfare Office building in Oistins to house staff or cater to the needs of members of the public.

This was decided yesterday by the Minister of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Urban Development Dr Denis Lowe after a tour of the building with ministry staff and officials of the Ministry of Housing and Lands.

"This building is not acceptable and should be pushed down and rebuilt. It should be condemned," he said.

It has been abandoned since May, and staff are being accommodated at the main Welfare Office in The City. (BGIS)
