THE NEW BAXTERS ROAD FRY VILLAGE is set to open by July 26 – more than a year after the first proposed launch date.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Haynesley Benn said on Friday that the $1.5 million facility would be opened in time for people selling fish dinners to cash in on the Crop-Over Festival.

"I am confidant that we will have it opened before July 26th," he told the SUNDAY SUN.

Benn made the comment after touring the facilities at the corner of Westbury Road and Baxters Road, St Michael, in the company of City of Bridgetown Member of Parliament Patrick Todd, and programme manager with the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc., Charles Holder. (TY)
