Bolt breaks Trinidad record

PORT-OF-SPAIN Jamaican Usain Bolt clocked the fastest ever legal 100 metres in Trinidad and Tobago when he won the Hampton Games men's 100 metres in 9.92 seconds at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on Saturday night.
Bolt had a mild following wind of 0.6 metres per second and won ahead of American Mike Rodgers (10.07). American John Capel (10.12) was third.
The previous quickest legal time in Trinidad was set by local star Marc Burns in winning the 2005 National Championships in 9.96 seconds.
Bolt, who ran the second fastest ever 100 metres in clocking 9.76 seconds at the Jamaica International two weeks ago, will tackle world champion Tyson Gay at the Reebok Grand Prix in New York at month-end. (CMC)
