THE BARBADOS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (BCA) has wasted little time in gearing up for the 2010 first-class season.
A few days after the national team returned home from the regional limited-overs competition, the BCA has invited 35 players to training in preparation for the four-day competition starting in January.
The squad: Renaldo Arthur, Tino Best, Sulieman Benn, Rashidi Boucher, Carlos Brathwaite, Kraigg Brathwaite, Shamarh Brooks, Patrick Browne, Jonathan Carter, Nikolai Charles, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich, Fidel Edwards, Corey Edwards, Kirk Edwards, Marlon Franklin, Marlon Graham, Jamar Griffith, Jason Haynes, Ryan Hinds, Alcindo Holder, Jason Holder, Kyle Hope, Kofie Hurdle, Antonio Mayers, Kevin McClean, Carlo Morris, Martin Nurse, Rashid O'Neal, Kemar Roach, Dwayne Smith, Khalid Springer, Kevin Stoute, Jomel Warrican, Kenroy Williams, Barrington Yearwood. No Dale Richards? Has the selectors finally given up on the injury prone opening bat? I say good move as his presence may only confuse issues at a time when Kraigg Brathwaite, Rashidi Boucher and other promising openers need a chance to play and perform. Just a little confused as to why no mention of this in the Press thus far!
