ESCAPEE Mark Anderson Franklyn has been recaptured after leading police on a two-week manhunt.
Franklyn, a 44-year-old resident of Ashby Alley, Nelson Street, The City, acheived notoriety when he escaped from the adjacent prison farm around
10:30 a.m on November 10, after entering in August on a two-year sentence for theft.
He was held by police around 11 a.m yesterday in an abandoned building along Bay Street. (CA/PR)
Armed n Dangerous : 11/26/2009
Police would make that statement because, should there be an altercation, they would be justified in using lethal force as their 'way out' of the situation.
It is so sad to see what has been allowed to happen in Barbados, with such weaponry being displayed all too often. We're fast becoming like Venezuela, a POLICE state!
Recapture of Mark Franklyn : 11/26/2009
Mark Anderson Franklyn recaptured will make Barbados safer with yet another thug off the streets. The Barbados police force should be applauded in warning the public of a dangerous criminal on the loose and the quickness in recapturing him. Let's pray, he be transformed, and reformed through the prison's programs.
I Think : 11/25/2009
Mr. Franklyn is a thief, working in the garden. He knew that what he was planting would not be ready too soon; he went to steal ripe produce. Good Dear, no one seems to understand. He may be a thief, but he will look out for you to get some ground-food.

Just because he was in prision for theft , does it mean that he isn t or wasn t a criminal? come on folks ... and the average badboy on the streets have a gun soo this comment about taking away guns from the police is nonsense . when you do that how are the police suppose to protect us? come on folks .. we all are smart all we have to do is tap into it ... so if you hanen t please make it quick.
escapee : 11/25/2009
all I know is they should take away these guns from the police because they love to shoot people if they run. The task force now claiming they only train to shoot to kill, thats nonsense because you shoot to kill when there's a war going on, not shoot to kill one prisoner or one person running, they should also take the task force guns away, its not like the country is under seige and all these idiots carrying guns, cause these guys just anxious to shoot someone. If the person pose danger like point a gun, but if the person is running away, why shoot at the person. The government needs to retrain this so call task force.
think before you talk : 11/25/2009
If the escape convict was dangerous he would not be in the farm labour program. prisoners are profiled before they become trustees.
Not Smart! : 11/25/2009
Mark Anderson, you used all that guile and went to all that trouble to escape from the prison farm, then you suddenly got stupid or something and decided to hole up in an abandoned building on Bay Street. Really not smart Mark. A blind man could have found you. I think that you should be waterboarded as soon as you get back to prison for showing such blatant disregard for basic commonsense.
Who is he? : 11/25/2009
He should be glad he is alive today.
This as a man on the run probaly desper-
ate and hungry, what would you expect he
would do to someone if he think they have
something he wants, give them a hug and
a kiss.We should all presumed he`s armed
and dangerous, the people that think
different must be living in a box.

For those who think that this big thief and God knows what else should not be labeled as armed and dangerous i sorry you did not find him in your house .None of the below posters are store or supermarket owners i know for sure because you would not be smiling to know he out and sympathetic. I am sure merchants etal who have merchandise to loose are breathing a sigh of relief now that one less headache has gone . Now he does not want to be in jail you think he want to get catch? study it ! You think he will arm himself with a writing pad and a pencil to take notes ? If he had butt you or your family you would be crying all like now because cell phones ,wallets, bags on shoulders and jewelery are good to go .
escape convict : 11/25/2009
Escape convict that is what he was and police had all right to caution the general public that he might be armed and dangerous . whoever commented with an opposing view would probably like to too that he is a nice boy and just got a bad break. Caution completely in order. Perhaps the one who commented otherwise should offer him lodging at their home when he is lawfully released from prison.
Caution is in order : 11/25/2009
What unfortunate comments about being armed and dangerous!. If a man escapes it means that he does not want to be fre. The first thing you expect is for him to protect himself from recapture. Do you expect him to be in posession of a knife and fork,a cherry tree limb, a coconut whip or even a gutterperk in this day and age?. Wisen up people, the Police are right with their caution.
A Thief : 11/25/2009
Dangruss and Missing the story .You are .You really do not know this man .He is not a battery thief .You know how many store owners were left crying because of him ? He and his accomplice
Kudos to Cops : 11/25/2009

Why is it that when ever you are in prison for the smallest crime and you escape the first thing they say is you are Armed and Dangruss.
Missing Story : 11/25/2009
