PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad - Trinidad and Tobago cricket officials have hailed the selection of opener Adrian Barath for the West Indies' tour of Australia starting later this month.
The teenaged batsman was named in a 15-man squad which will leave next week to contest three Tests against the World champion.
"Barath is jubilant at the moment. He is over the moon with the news that he is on the West Indies team for the tour to Australia," national team manager Colin Borde said.
"The entire T&T team across here in Guyana is happy for him and they have already started to do their part in getting him ready for the big series."
He added: "Daren Ganga and Dwayne Bravo who have both played in Australia before have spoken to him and advised him on what to expect there. (CMC)
