AS A USUAL ROUTINE, I buy my daily newspaper and after work I sit in the doorway of my kitchen and read my paper before I eat my dinner.
To my surprise, on the Front Page of the Thursday, November 12 DAILY NATION was the headline Drain Pain.
This is how it reads: "Barbadians could find themselves paying more for water if they don't stop wasting it."
Yes, I can agree that some Barbadians do waste a lot of water, but the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has the audacity to blame only the Barbadian public for wasting water?
Sometimes I wonder if it's a waste of time calling the BWA about the burst pipes because of the time the workers take to come and fix them.
This is about two weeks now that a pipe has been burst in Half Moon Fort, St Lucy, and was reported and up until November 16, it hadn't been fixed. There is also a burst main on the main road leaving Six Men's in St Peter and near Barrow's Children's Home in St Lucy on the left side.
I am not sure if that pipe was reported, but I know the one in Half Moon Fort was by some of the concerned residents who have had to endure a muddy track every day because there is no other way in or out of their homes.

Laid-back : 11/20/2009
This laid-back attitude of the BWA existed for years. Let's hope that the PM can deal with this situation once and for all.
