The world – a true global village
WE NOW HAVE the breaking down of trade barriers, Barbados has spread its wings – in terms of tourism, sports, business and diplomatic relations – as far as Brazil, East Africa and China, instant communication via satellite, Internet, voice, picture, video conferencing, sports and important world events.
But the recent confrontation between Jamaica and the United States – the “Dudus” Coke issue – shows that the US is still getting its way around the world, if Jamaica’s prime minister was right when he said that the information the US gave for Coke’s extradition request was illegally obtained.
