Indiscipline and lawlessness on the rise in our beautiful island

IN RECENT times I have been extremely concerned over the direction of my beautiful country.

There seems to be an increase in lewdness, vulgarity, indiscipline and a high level of disrespect.

Too many people are caught up with negativity as their ideals, and there seems to be a deviant mentality which is pervading our society.

What has been particularly distressing is that some of the agencies, leaders and influential persons in our society who should be upfront in the struggle to correct this unsocial behaviour have been turning a blind eye and “minding their own business.

”However while reading the Weekend Nation of June 25 I was extremely overjoyed to have identified three clear instances of attempts to take back our society.

These were initiated by the police the Press and school authorities on Pages 1, 2 and 3 respectively.

It is my hope that all concerned join in this fight which should be vigourously sustained. Barbados must remain the island Paradise of old.
