DESMOND HAYNES is about to open a new innings.The former Barbados and West Indies opening batsman was yesterday named as Barbados manager for the West Indies Cricket Board’s Regional Twenty20 Tournament later this month.It is the latest in a long list of administrative roles Haynes has held since his playing days.In addition to serving as president and coach at the Carlton Club, he is also a former Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) first vice-president and chairman of selectors, a former secretary of the West Indies Players Association, and former chairman of the National Sports Council.The BCA also announced the appointments of Ryan Hinds as captain, Emmerson Trotman as coach, Vasbert Drakes as assistant coach, and Jacqui King-Mowatt as physiotherapist for the tournament.
