Thompson batted for 168 minutes in which he faced 127 deliveries and he struck ten fours and one six.Hill reached his 50 off 47 deliveries in 80 minutes of batting and he struck seven fours and a six.Police, who were surprisingly asked to bat on a placid pitch and in brilliant sunshine, lost captain Dwayne Yearwood with the score on 13. Roger Williams and Antonio Mayers took the total to 57 before Mayers played on to a delivery from medium pacer Burke. Brian Corbin joined Williams, who was dismissed soon afterwards for 30, to leave Police at 68 for three. Chad Linton showed promise, but only reached ten before he edged Burke to the keeper. Police went to tea at 122 for four off 32 overs with Corbin on 35 and Dion Broome on four. Immediately after tea Corbin was caught by Sean Armstrong in the slips off the off-spinner Jamar Phillips without any addition to his tea-time score.  At 127 for five, Thompson continued his innings with batting partner Broomes and together they took Police to 183 before Broomes edged a catch to the keeper off Bourne, who finished with three wickets. At this stage, Hill joined Thompson and the pair was separated when Thompson played a tired looking stroke and was dismissed eight short of a century. Hill followed soon afterwards.
