Barbadians should soon feel safer when traversing the Tudor Street, City area late in the evening and at night.
That’s because the Ministry of Transport and Works in conjunction with the Government Electrical Engineering Department have started work to provide proper lighting.
Yesterday, the DAILY NATION visited the scene, and was in time to see workers from Simmons Electrical installing meters and waterproof panels in order for the Barbados Light & Power to light the street.
For years, businesses and customers have been calling for proper lighting due to numerous robberies, but the calls increased since the September 3 robbery and firebombing that left six women dead at the Campus Trendz store.
