Barbadians are being encouraged to send their messages of goodwill to Prime Minister David Thompson in a tangible way.
“Get well” cards will be available at Nation House, Fontabelle; Nation Classifieds, Sheraton; and Starcom Network Inc., where persons will be able to send their sentiments. The cards will later be presented to the Prime Minister and his family.
Acting Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Publishing Company Limited, Wilfred Field, is hoping for the public’s full support:
“We at THE NATION did something similar at the corporate level, and we know that Barbadians are just as saddened by the news of the Prime Minister’s illness as we are. We therefore wanted to also give them a chance to let him know that, and to give him something positive and uplifting to show that we all care and are rooting for his recovery,” he stated.
Field added that members of the public could go to any of the locations and sign the cards with a personal message, along with their signature.
The cards will be available from noon today until next Tuesday.
Prime Minister Thompson was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is receiving medical attention abroad. (PR)
