DEAR CHRISTINE – Children need clothes, shoes
I am writing this letter to you for your help with some clothes for my children – four boys and one girl.
Please, if there is anyone out there with second-hand clothes that are okay, just help me and my children age 10, 11, 14 and 20. The girl is 14 years old.
I can barely give them food, but I try hard to. There is no money to buy clothes or shoes.
I have to feed them and keep them at school and the fathers don’t help me in any way. The Welfare [Department] helps out a little, but not much, with buying food.
Please, I am begging you for your help.
I would be very grateful.
– In Dire Need
Dear In Dire Need,
Everyone in this country who tries to fulfil their responsibility of feeding and clothing their family or loved ones can empathise with you.
Food is expensive, clothes are not cheap, and good quality shoes are hard to come by and, when you do get them, the price is astronomical.
But as parents or guardians we must live up to our responsibility and provide for them. After all, they didn’t ask to be here; we brought them into this world.
Clearly, you are trying your best to do right by your children and for that you should be commended.
There are a lot of kind people out there who, I am sure, will come forward with items if you can let us know the sizes you require.
I urge you to continue working to uplift yourself and your children.
I look forward to hearing from you soon with the clothes and shoe sizes.
