Mario Forde secured a season’s-best fifth victory to lead the St Philip club in a sweep of the top three positions in the senior category of last Sunday’s road race on the Constant circuit.
Jamol Eastmond and reigning road race champ Simon Clarke completed the trifecta, finishing in a distant second and third, respectively, as Forde made his break from the peloton with two of the 12 laps remaining.
Junior national time trial and road race king Russell Elcock kept his perfect season intact by beating G4S Swift team-mate Brandon Wilkie in the junior category.
Velo Caribe’s Marissa Bradshaw took the women’s equivalent after Denise Crebbin suffered a puncture within the first three laps.
Team Fugen enjoyed further success when Kristin Vanderpool copped first place in the juveniles, while Liam Lovell of G4S won the tinymite category.
There were also victories for Emmerson Brewster (A-Class Batteries Golden Wheelers) and independent riders Sylvan Adams and Jonathan Griffith in the over-50, masters and Category 4 divisions respectively. (JM)
