Unique 10 out of St John
THE ST JOHN PARISH Independence Committee (PIC) will be showing Barbados exactly what is unique about its parish.
Through a project entitled Embracing Our Heritage To Preserve It For The Future: The Unique 10, they intend to educate people about St John and help in the preservation of the parish’s heritage.
The Unique 10 are Yarico Pond; St John Parish Church; The Codrington Estate; The Springs; The Red Legs; Horatio Cooke; Bath; Bowmanston Station; New Castle Children’s Home and Joan Glasgow.
Project coordinator Paul Puckerin and St John PIC treasurer Jacqueline Leach paid a visit to THE NATION’S Fontabelle office on Tuesday to promote the Get Moving heritage exposition.
“The expo takes place at Codrington College on October 9. It came about out of the National Task Force on Physical Activity and Exercise chaired by Mara Thompson.
“We thought it would be a good idea after the Prime Minister fell sick,” said Puckerin.
Leach added that the committee wished the Thompson family all the best and the St John PIC and the ambassadors were praying for them “in these difficult times”. (CA)
