Rain and overcast conditions may have placed a damper on Arbor Day Expo in Queen’s Park, The City, but the small number of booths still offered a large variety of items for those people who turned out in search of bargains yesterday.
Some of the biggest attractions in the Park were the National Conservation Commission and Soil Conservation booths, with the women in particular enjoying the large variety of plants on offer. Soil’s fruits trees of all varieties were snapped up by customers.
Clothes, jewellery, jams, jellies and preservatives were also available, along with regular treats like fish cakes and ice cream.
A lifeguard booth, as well as the Harrison’s Cave displays, added to the morning’s attractions, complemented by Annie The Clown and DJ entertainment. (KB)
