The lives of some less fortunate children should be significantly brightened, thanks to a new initiative created by Harris Paints and championed by Aunty Olga.
Under the initiative entitled Be A Champion, customers visiting any of Harris Paints’ three Colour Centres during the month of October will have the opportunity to donate a can of Ulttima paint towards a fund managed by one of Barbados’ most respected champions for the needy, Aunty Olga.
In return, Harris Paints will match each can of Ulttima donated, as well as give customers a $20 voucher for future Harris purchases.
Aunty Olga is delighted with the opportunity provided by Harris Paints: “During these hard times, the lives of those less fortunate often get even more overlooked. We are hoping that the public will step forward to assist this cause and help us give to those who are most in need.”
Senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Harris Paints, Luke Ticknor, expanded on the project: “We are extremely excited by the Be A Champion campaign as we see a great opportunity to improve the lives of some of Barbados’ needy children by adding colour to their environment . . .
“We couldn’t have found a more worthy partner to distribute the paints than Aunty Olga and we look forward to matching the many donations provided by our loyal customers.”
Donations of Ulttima paint can be made at any of Harris’ convenient Colour Centres: Fitts Village, Wildey or Six Roads.
The Be A Champion initiative follows a recent contribution made by Harris Paints to the Nightengale Children’s Home, where the interior of one of the cottages was repainted as Harris Paints participated in the 2010 Clean Up Barbados campaign organised by the Future Centre Trust. (PR)
