Mr Vegas up for top award

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – Jamaica dancehall artiste Clifford “Mr. Vegas” Smith, who has been nominated for Best Reggae Artiste in the 2010 Soul Train Music Awards, is hopeful that the recognition will place international attention on Jamaican music.
Smith, who has had multiple successes on the Billboard charts over the years, expressed pleasure at the nomination.
“After years of hard work, I am so humbled and honoured to be recognized by the internationally renowned Soul Train Music Awards,” he said.
“I wish all the nominees in the reggae category the best of luck and hope that we can continue to push reggae music to the masses worldwide.”
Smith is expected to be in attendance at the awards show, which is to be taped on November 10 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia. (CMC)
