Barbados players show respect

WICB REGIONAL 50-OVER FINAL
Teams: Barbados vs Leeward Islands
Venue: Sabina Park, Jamaica
KINGSTON – Leeward Islands, after winning the toss and batting, were 65 for three in 12 overs against Barbados in the final of the 2010 WICB One-Day Championship at Sabina Park here today.
The batsmen out are openers Montcin Hodge (0) and Chesney Hughes (0) and Steve Liburd (5). The not out batsmen are captain Wilden Cornwall (22) and Javia Liburd (12) Pacers Tino Best (2-21) and Kemar Roach (1-33) are the successful bowlers.
Barbados are fielding an unchanged team while the Leewards brought in Steve Liburd and pacer Gavin Tonge for Omari Banks and Gavin Williams.
The Barbados players are wearing black armbands in respect of the death of Prime Minister David Thompson, who died early on Saturday morning.
One of the Barbados players Marlon Graham is a nephew of the late Thompson. The teams and officials observed a two-minute period of silence before the start of play. (EZS)
