Mitchell: A tremendous loss to region

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada – Leader of the Opposition Dr Keith Mitchell said Prime Minister David Thompson’s passing was a tremendous loss, not only to the people of Barbados but to the entire regional community.
Mitchell described the Barbadian Leader as a shrewd and outstanding politician.
“Prime Minister Thompson was a true public servant who provided outstanding leadership to Barbados and the wider Caribbean Community,” Mitchell said.
“He always displayed a calm temperament in the face of tough challenges and the strength of his personal convictions was made manifest in his deep sense of duty and commitment to the people of Barbados and the Caribbean region.
“He was a true gentleman and he will be greatly missed by all,” Mitchell added.
The former Grenadian leader also extended sympathies to Thompson’s wife, Mara, his three daughters and other members of his family.
