Members of the Queen’s College and Harrison College Key Clubs under the umbrella of the Caribbean Atlantic District of Key Club International made a significant contribution of foodstuff and varied gifts to the Barbados Council for the Disabled today at BARNOD’s headquarters at the Garrison, Christ Church.
In accepting the contribution from Christiann King, District Governor and Kayla Clarke-Mendes, Chair of the Project Committee, along with other Key Club Members, the president of BARNOD Joey Harper applauded the group for raising their own funds and making such a generous contribution to the challenged during a period where finances were of a premium.
Harper complimented the young persons for playing their part in helping those persons with challenges and he lamented the fact that … “older persons in our society tend to suffer from premature alzheimers as they tend to forget that they were once young people too.
“You are the key to opening the minds of older persons that the youth can and have been playing a role to help the less fortunate in our society and you are also the key to opening the minds of young people who hold the wrong view that there is no future,” Harper added. (KB)
