THE?SALE of LASCO (Barbados) has been completed and a new managing director appointed.
Last week the company, which was owned by Jamaican businessman Lascelles Chin, was acquired by Bryden Pi Limited, a member of the Brydens Trinidad group of companies, the largest privately-owned distribution network in Trinidad and Tobago.
Hemraj Ramdath, who has significant experience in business development in North and Latin America and the Caribbean, will head the operation.
BARBADOS BUSINESS AUTHORITY last week broke the story that the local LASCO operation would be sold.
Ramdath said that under new ownership LASCO planned to consolidate, invest, and grow the company largely through the addition of new lines, new business, and additional staff.
“We will be consolidating and maintaining our current business relationships while growing the company through the addition of more product lines to our portfolio.
In order to make this possible, we also need to invest heavily in our human resource capacity; therefore, we are looking to increase our staff complement and conduct continuous training,” he added.
Bryden Pi is a leading pharmaceutical and personal care distributor in Trinidad and Tobago, and has relationships with leading global brands. (GE)
