Desmond Weekes of the Drayton Two fame continues to turn out sweet music and he showed his appreciation for his loyal fans at an awards ceremony recently at Coconut Court.
Weekes who has been performing at that venue with the Bridgetown Boyz for the past four years, gave over 20 certificates to repeat visitors from Canada and England for their support of his music for the past two decades.
Weekes said: “For many years in the past our Barbadian music has helped to sell this island to wonderful people like you all over the world. It cannot be denied that our music has helped to put Barbados on the travel map.
“Our infectious beat can help to keep you warm in the colder climates or bring you to your feet when it is warmer,” Weekes told the visitors.
The members of the band are Ricky Wilkinson, Harold ‘Ebony’ Tull, Livingstone Brewster and David Archer. (KB)
