Scent of Rihanna

Hundreds of Barbadians turned out to show their support for Barbadian pop star Rihanna, when Cave Shepherd launched her new fragrance Reb’l Fleur last Saturday.
There was hardly any room in the store as young and old lined the red carpet eagerly awaiting her mother Monica Fenty, who unveiled a pyramid of the Caribbean mixed fragrance.
But before that, locals and visitors alike watched the huge flat screens displaying Rihanna’s successful career, the various magazine covers she has graced as well as her platinum hits and mission statement.
Those in the store listened carefully as representative for Phillipe Gerard Enterprises Tina Hamilton went through, step by step, how the fragrance was created.
Hamilton pointed out that the perfume was a blend on flowers and fruits found in the Caribbean as well as coconut-water, showing Rihanna’s love for the Caribbean and her hometown Barbados.
“I believe a woman should dare to be different – willing to live her life for herself and not for other people. This fragrance is about my passion for individuality – being expressive and empowering, but also emotional and intriguing. I promise you Reb’l Fleur will not be easily forgotten,” Rihanna is quoted as stating.
And she was quite correct. The perfume dazzled all in store and within less than an hour all 100 ml bottles were sold out.
Counters were filled with people purchasing and at almost every turn patrons could be seen with their hands to their noses sniffing the beautiful fragrance.
