Toddler dies in early fire

GEORGETOWN, Guyana – Two-year-old Nicolas Maraj died today after fire gutted his parent’s home in the squatting area of South Vryheid’s Lust.
Authorities said Nicolas and his three-year-old brother, Patrick, were playing with matches on the bed when the fire started.
The two had been left in care of their grandmother, who had gone to drop a third child at school. (CMC)
