RAIN, RAIN AND MORE RAIN. Some minor flooding?occurred in Barbados yesterday as persistent showers drenched several districts.
And according to the Barbados Meteorological Services these showers could continue this weekend.
In a bulletin issued yesterday, the department said the weather was due to a broad area of unsettled conditions associated with a trough system. This had generated cloudy to overcast skies, periods of light to moderate rain and some occasional moderate to heavy showers across the island. “Analysis suggests that these conditions will continue to affect the island during the night. Moisture levels are expected to remain resonably high into the weekend, thus some sporadic showers are likely to persist during this time,” it added.
The bulletin advised those residents in flood-prone areas to exercise caution and remain on the alert. Here, some of the flooding at Road View, St Peter, yesterday. (SP)
