4.2 quake hits Jamaica

A minor earthquake struck east Jamaica at 4:29 this morning.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.2 on the richter scale, reported the United States Geographical Survey (USGS).
The University of West Indies (UWI) Mona Earthquake Unit has placed the epicentre of this morning’s magnitude 4.2 earthquake as north-east of Chestervale, St Andrew in the Blue Mountains.
With a focal depth of 5 kilometres, the unit reported that quake, which occurred at 4:29 am, was felt in St Thomas, Kingston and St Andrew.
??The Observer also received reports of the quake being felt in St Catherine, St Mary, St Thomas and Portland. (Jamaica Observer)
