Crop Over producers, the National Cultural Foundation (NCF), will partner with the Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA) in promoting Rihanna’s August 5 concert.
The BTA and NCF said in a joint statement today they were partners in the Grammy Award winner’s “homecoming concert” which will take place at the Kensington Oval.
It said they would jointly market the event, while several local technical companies will work in conjunction with Rihanna’s management company, Roc Nation, which is the technical producer.
“We are actually partnering . . . in the promotion of this show as this now adds another element to the Crop Over Festival and gives us more to market to the regional and international communities as we strive to promote Barbados and increase the number of visitor arrivals,” BTA chairman Adrian Elcock said.
NCF chairman Monique Taitt said it would offer a “bundled ticket special for Cohobblopot and the Rihanna concert”.
One ticket for the two shows will be sold for $15 less than the cost of buying two separate tickets, and according to Taitt, would allow patrons to “cash in on the opportunity of saving and ensuring their place at Kensington Oval for probably the two biggest shows of the year”.
Meanwhile, the July 31 Cohobblopot will feature the return of Trinidad and Tobago’s soca monarch Machel Montano and his HD crew, said Taitt.Barbadian Rihanna, who burst onto the world stage five years ago with Pon De Replay, will host her first concert here as part of her LOUD world tour. (PR)
