Low cost carrier REDJet will be making its inaugural flight from Trinidad next week to capitalise on the Crop-Over Festival and by extension, the Rihanna Loud Concert.
And there are also plans to embark on travel from Port of Spain to Guyana and from Port of Spain to Kingston.
Communications Executive of the Caribbean’s newest airline, Nyssa Pierre, flanked by Chief Executive Officer Ian Burns, made this disclosure at a press briefing today at the Grantley Adams International Airport.
“We know that many consumers are interested in coming to Barbados for Crop Over and we are very pleased to be able to deliver that service to you. So in time for the Festival and the Rihanna Loud Concert, which is a key event for Barbadians and Caribbean people, we will fly (the Trinidad route) on July 28, July 29, July 31, August 2, 3, 5 and 7,” she said.
Pierre said that starting August 8, REDjet will launch four flights per week out of Trinidad, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
She added that REDjet expected to increase its schedule to Trinidad within a few months with the long-term plan, a daily service.
