Barbados wins first Under-19 match

GEORGETOWN, Guyana – Barbados and Jamaica joined Guyana as first round winners of the WICB Regional Under-19 Championships.
Today, Barbados defeated the Windward Islands by 94 runs one hour and 23 minutes after tea on the third and final. Off-spinner Chaim Holder took seven wickets for 60 runs as the Windward Islands were bowled out for 148, despite 77 by Dwight Thomas.
Jamaica defeated Trinidad and Tobago by ten wickets at Everest. With a first innings score of 320, Jamaica relied on their bowlers to get the job done.
Earlier, Guyana beat the Leeward Islands by an innings and 25 runs.
BARBADOS 161 (Neil Browne 26 not out, Kraigg Brathwaite 26, Kyle Mayers 26, Anthony Alleyne 23, Shane Parris 21; Larry Edwards 5-42, Kavem Hodge 3-36) and 312 (Anthony Alleyne 79, Shane Parris 60, Neil Browne 36, Mario Rampersaud 50 not out, Justin Greaves 27; Kavem Hodge 4-80, Larry Edward 3-81). WINDWARD ISLANDS 148 (Dwight Thomas 77, Sunil Ambris 24, Emmanuel Peter 21; Justin Greaves 7-40, Kraigg Brathwaite 2-27) and 230 (Sunil Ambris 44, Larry Edward 36, Dwight Thomas 23, Emmanuel Peter 22; Chaim Holder 7-60). Barbados won by 94 runs.
JAMAICA 320 (Teswayne Creary 77, Donovan Nelson 57, John Campbell 55, Aldaine Thomas 39, Bryan Gayle 33; Derone Davis 5-79, Jovan Ali 4-64) and 19 without loss. TRINIDAD & TOBAGO 136 (Stephen Katwaroo 33, Duane Cockburn 28, Isian Rajah 21; Donovan Nelson 4-41, Ramon Senior 2-9) and 202 (Akeal Hosein 98, Derone Davis 25; James McDonald 3-14, Marquino Mindley 2-20, Donovan Nelson 2-62).
