Barbados has benefitted significantly from the Rihanna Loud Concert held last Friday night at the Kensington Oval.
Chairman of the Barbados Tourism Authority Adrian Elcock told a press conference today that the concert’s promotional value  was “phenomenal and we could never have afforded to pay for it”.
Elcock said two overseas investors had already been seeking information on the country and had been touring the island for suitable locations to set up.
In addition two actresses had also made contact with the BTA seeking to have interviews done in Barbados.
A beaming Elcock said he was pleased with the well orchestrated concert which had turned out to be an “amazing night for many” creating a buzz throughout the country and internationally.
The concert was part of a three-year promotional deal the BTA signed with the management of Grammy-award winning superstar.
Elcock said while Rihanna was not contractually obligated to perform in the island again in the three year arrangement, they were in discussion with Rihanna’s management on an offer, which would hopefully be even bigger than the concert.
As part of the contract the BTA is also scheduled to have a video promoting Barbados which will highlight various parts of Rihanna’s life in Barbados, as well as parts of the concert.
Rihanna is scheduled  to have four appearances in Brazil, where the BTA will also be taking local entertainers, local cuisine and an on the-ground media team to promote the island.
“But I must say that Rihanna herself has been very proactive, she has been working on her own so therefore everything with Rihanna is not contractual.. she recognizes Barbados as her own and is doing all she can to promote it,” Elcock stated.
