Two first-timers and two siblings are among the slate of Democratic Labour Party (DLP) candidates reportedly confirmed to contest the next national poll.
While George Pilgrim, the party’s general secretary yesterday refused to confirm the reports, the WEEKEND NATION has been informed that Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Senator Harry Husbands, as well as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Senator Jepter Ince, have received the nod from the DLP’s executive council.
In addition, siblings and attorneys-at-law Francis and Verla DePeiza have also been confirmed on the slate of DLP candidates, sources close to the party stated.
In the case of Verla, her approval has caused some controversy in the Christ Church West constituency as she has been pushed ahead of Taan Abed who was the branch’s first choice.
