Showing a smile as bright as her tiara, Taisha Carrington was crowned Miss Barbados World 2011 last night at Hilton Barbados.
The red carpet affair themed Celebrating the Bajan Woman featured seven talented, young women from across the island elegantly demonstrating the deep beauty, strength and intellect that Barbados had to offer.
The women strutted in colourful swimsuits, sashayed in stunning evening wear and showed they were quick thinkers by answering questions drawn at random.
And at the end of the night, Lyngeolle Morris emerged as the second runner-up with Sedia Jackman placing as the first runner-up in what was no doubt a close contest all around.
However, it was Carrington who stood head and heels above the rest and proved she was well spoken, beautiful inside and out and ready to leave her mark on the world – qualities she felt could be found in a Barbadian woman.
