Heavy rains drenched St John and St George yesterday while other parts of the island experienced sweltering heat.
The rains caused flooding in some areas, severely inconveniencing residents and motorists, particularly in Featherbed Lane, Kendal, St John, and St Jude’s, St George.
The conditions were a result of the localized feature of light winds and strong daytime heating.
