Bajan music to Explode in Miami
It will be an explosion of Bajan music at this weekend’s Miami Carnival.
In fact, organisers of the festival have chosen Alison Hind’s song Explode to widely promote the festival across Miami and the United States, on television networks, the Internet and social media sites like Facebook.
Mistah Dale, who wrote the song, said this was good news not only for Hinds and local artistes, but also for Barbados.
He said the song was an “out and out” road song, as it embodies the merriment on carnival day. “It addresses the day, the big jump up, the colour and costumes” he said.
Kirk Arthur, who produced the song, said the use of the song for the Miami carnival promotion helped to give local music and artistes the exposure they needed and deserved.
The Barbados Tourism Authority’s Vice President of Marketing in the United States Campbell Rudder said they were supporting two Barbadian bands which will be on the road for carnival.
Mistah Dale says he will be joining Soca Queen Alison Hinds in Miami this weekend.
Yesterday morning, Hinds tweeted on the social media site Twitter: “Gooood morning!!! Ur girl is @ d airport getting ready 2 head 2 miami!!! All Carnival crew represent now!!!!”
