A DEDICATED WHISTLEBLOWER HOTLINE for employees to anonymously report white-collar crime and other wrongdoing in their workplaces is about to go live in Barbados.
Crime Stoppers Barbados, which has been successful in helping police nab fugitives and solve offences ranging from drug use to violent crime, will launch an Integrity Line on Thursday, director Devrol Dupigny disclosed in an interview with the SUNDAY SUN.
He said the line would be administered by Crime Stoppers UK and gave the assurance that the confidentiality attached to the traditional Crime Stoppers programme – which he insists has never been compromised – would also apply to the new line.
“This Integrity Line, or Anti-Corruption Service as it may be known, is . . . targeted at people who want to give information about wrongdoing and criminal activity within the workplace environment, such as fraud, money laundering, and white-collar type of crime,” Dupigny said, stressing that other unethical but not illegal activity could also be reported.
