NHC homes go to six families
Six families relocated to Leadvale, Christ Church, because of land slippage at White Hill, St Andrew received the keys to their new homes yesterday.
In the handover ceremony at Leadvale, Minister of Housing Michael Lashley thanked the families for their patience, consideration and cooperation.
Lashley said that the National Housing Corporation was working with limited resources, but remained steadfast and delivered on the Leadvale project.
Minister of International Business and International Transport George Hutson said that the decision to relocate the residents emanated from an environmental impact assessment conducted in 1994 as a component in the feasibility study of the Grantley Adams International Airport project.
Hutson said the project involved the relocation of 17 households from Thyme Bottom and Parish Land.
